Fire hazard. Had my electrician install 6 of these within 4 months one started making noise then smelled terrible. I shut of power and pulled it out and discovered it was burnt and melted. Also partially melted the electric box in the wall. If I wasn''t home to catch this I would be living in a hotel. Also my wife and kids were upstairs and never smelt of suspected anything. Very dangerous. Made in mexico not usa. Also never held temp well when it did work. About 2 of the 6 installed seem to hold an ok temperature level. Replacing all 6 with a different brand. Honeywell also had past recalls of the switch sticking causing the thermostat to over heat. Maybe they should include this one. Money in the garbage thanks honeywell for wasting my time, money, and placing my family and the rest of our townhouse community danger. Great!

Don''t waste your money..As many have said the temp. set is way off. I have to have set one in my living room all the way up to get 70f.. 3000 watts of total heaters is just a constant on and off . Shop has a 5000 watt heater same thing all the way up to get 70f. They do work if you never want to go over 70f and want constant on and off.

Update 3-1-17.Adding 2 stars..I drilled 3 3/8 holes in the cover on both sides for better air circulation.. . Installed in another room. Is now a very accurate thermostat. The one in the shop has not been drilled yet and is still required to set at max to get 70f. Sometimes it is off by 15f degrees, setting at 60 will get me 45f. Will update when shop thermostat has been drilled . Will upload pictures to show the drilling if it works there also.

Update 5-10-17 Added 1 more star. Have now been using all winter with the mods. mentioned earlier. Both are accurate enough for me.I actually just ordered 1 more for another room.Would be 5 stars if I didn''t have to figure out how to make them accurate.

    OK, here we go.
This product comes in a nice little box and is packed well. It looks basic and works, sort of like it should.l
--- This thermostat is is questionably accurate and I will explain why
for keeping the room warm, it will do this, in a acceptable manner but if you require accurate temperatures, this may not be your target.
I am using a 1500 watt heater, this thermostat claims "Can control up to 5,280 Watts". I will say, with your full knowledge of the following, it may be able to do just that.
With my 1500 watt heater, I found the box where the contacts are, will heat up. This affects the thermal temperature control. The thermal sensor feels that heat from the switch and will falsely open or shut down the heater even though it has not attained the proper temperature.
My test was done with NO ELECTRICAL BOX, the thermostat was propped up with the ventilation slots open to the air. The rear of the thermostat was open to the air....
The highest I could get the room temp was 73, this is with the thermostat set at MAX TEMPERATURE.
If you try to control a heater at the recommended 5280 watts, the heat in the thermostat will be higher and the temperature level will be lower.
--- The only way you will be able to get around this heat problem would be to add a relay or a solid state relay and have the thermostat control the relay. This takes the load off of the thermostat, which takes the heat away and allows the thermostat to be more accurate.
-- In conclusion, this thermostat will work, it won''t be accurate and it does get warm to hot. My use was with the thermostat NOT installed in a enclosure so it had free air for cooling and was still affected by the warmth generated inside the thermostat switch.
Max temp I could attain was 73 with the thermostat dialed at full or max heat. The thermostat was switching off as you can hear the click so the switch was being thermally actuated. This max temperature varies so the heat was definately affecting the thermal operation. You could feel the heat on the switch case which confirmed the excess heat.
-- I STRONGLY RECOMMEND if you use this thermostat, to install it in a recommended metal box/case. Do not install above a heater as the warm air from the heater will affect its ability to sense ambient air temps. I am lead to believe that this thermostat is meant to be installed in a baseboard heater unit. The Temperature at floor level is cooler and this difference in air temp may allow more approving results.

Also, if you are installing this unit in a cramped/tight enclosure, you may have to arrange the wires so there is no tension on the thermo box connections. I had this in one position and it wouldn''t work until I moved the wires. Note that the wires are not attached by screws, more like a spot weld so the connection is not likely to fail. If you have an operation problem, check the thermostat installation.

    EDIT 10-22-2018
I have done further research on this thermostat and now have been able to get good temperature control.
The weakness of this thermostat is the temperature control device. It will not run the current (power) through without creating heat. When it creates heat, if makes the thermo device open prematurely.

    Yes, I have a fix.
First, the thermostat is NOT a 220/240v thermostat unless you add a relay, where the 220/240v power is switched through the relay.
I use my thermostat to run a 1500 watt heater. The thermostat is hugely unable to perform this task by itself as explained above.
The answer is to take the load/current OFF OF THE THERMOSTAT. You can use a relay to do this, I used a solid state relay, about $8 from MPJA, an electronics parts reseller. With all the load on the SSRelay, the thermostat no longer has any load across the thermo unit to make it prematurely heat up and open the contacts. With the load now switched across the SS RELAY, I am getting more heat out of the heater, it is staying on until the room actually warms up then switches off as required.
In short, unless you are using this thermostat for a very light load, it will not work properly for large loads UNLESS you add a relay or solid state relay to handle the heavy current from your heater device.
With the result I saw with the addition of the SS Relay, I STRONGLY suggest this addition to this particular thermostat.

I am not associated with the seller and did not receive any monies or product for my review

This thermostat is the same as the Cadet T410B-W Cadet by Honeywell Bimetal DP wall Thermostat, White and both are the entry level DPDT models designed to control electric baseboard heaters. They are not precision control items but there are temperature range stops under the cover to control the minimum and maximum temperature settings that take some playing around with to get it to be a bit more accurate. I have a total electric home and have this or the Cadet in every room and used them extensively when I was an electrician. The plus to this is that it’s a double pole so it breaks both legs of the power to the heater which isn’t really necessary but I prefer to know there’s no power at all to the unit so I can pop the covers every year and clean out the dust and cat hairs… and the occasional mouse they bring in and let them loose to hide in the heater. The temp ranges on this can be less than precise and sometimes they stick and you need to move the dial a bit. We only heat the rooms we’re in so they function more as an on/off switch and, over time, it does have an effect on accuracy. However, there are adjustments you can make to help correct that and I haven’t seen a reviewer who is downgrading it regarding accuracy mention they tried fiddling with those adjustments. For the price, I have no complaints and don’t expect it to keep a room within a 1-2 degree range and if that’s what you expect of it you’ll see a significant increase in electric usage as it cycles more frequently but you really should be looking at a higher end thermostat. Over time, these will fail so when you have a lot of them replacing one at about 20-bucks doesn’t break the back like a higher priced unit. The downside is that you need a deep box to handle the wiring and jamming all of it into a shallow box is pretty much impossible.

I wanted something accurate. I saw a lot of reviewers mention that the temperature was off, and one reviewer said it was more accurate after they drilled holes in the cover for more air flow. So I thought I''d give that a shot. I also noticed upon reading the instructions that it says "do not press the knob or you will mess up the calibration!" I figured a lot of people failed to read the directions, and wound up pushing it into the wall box by mashing the knob, therefore decalibrating it. I was very careful not to touch the knob before installation. Yet, still, I also am experiencing inaccuracy between the setting and the actual room temp. Mine keeps the room about 4-5 degrees below the setting. This is a little concerning as the maximum setting is 80 degrees, therefore I can''t heat the room any higher than 75ish. Not a huge concern for me as I rarely use the heater. Also, I did mount the thermostat kind of close to the heater (both are up high, since they are in a toddler''s room), so that could be contributing to the inaccuracy as well. Also, the cover just barely extends past the box, so you gotta really be careful to cut a hole the exact size you need and not a millimeter larger. My walls are plaster and it''s impossible to cut a perfectly clean line, so I''ll have to go back and caulk around the box and repaint, since the cover doesn''t really hide the edge around the box.

I used this thermostat with my Fahrenheat FUH724 240V Garage Heater. I DID NOT use it to break the circuit on the way to the heater- this would shut the heater off prematurely before the fan had time to cool the heating elements down (this prolongs the heater life). I did however (since I had the unit) use only the 2 black wires and replace the installed thermostat on the unit.

If you are looking at the same heater, you will understand the rest of my review. For installation I simply used some 14-2 romex and attached a female end, push-on connector (the same as what is attached to the installed unit thermostat) to the black and white wires. I then unplugged and replaced the push-on connectors that the installed thermostat were attached to with the ones I connected to the 14-2 wire. I ran that wire out of the unit, down the wall to a electrical box and installed this thermostat using just the black wires (one for the black and one for the white on the 14-2). I connected the ground inside the heater and the box as well, mostly just because it was there. I wrapped the original thermostat wires up and left the unit in the heater.

This setup works perfectly and gives me a thermostat at ground level instead of up near the top of my 11ft ceilings.

My house was built in 1970 and has baseboard heat in every room, with on-wall line-volt thermostats in each room to control that room''s heater. I''m pretty sure the thermostats in my house were original to the 1970 construction. After 7 years of having to constantly fiddle with them as they were horribly inaccurate and not very sensitive I finally got off my lazy butt and bought enough of these to replace every single one of the original thermostats.

What an improvement!!! I''ve installed 5 of these so far and all of them have worked flawlessly. It''s so nice to be able to set them to 73F and not have to touch them!

As a side note, if you''re in the same boat as me and your house was built in the very late 60s through the late 70s you may have aluminum wiring in your walls instead of copper. The wire pigtails on these thermostats are copper wire. Make sure you use an approved and safe method to join AL and CU wire - don''t burn down your house!

Then there is the T1 and T2 the thermostat. If you connect one side of the heater thermostat feed to the L1 then connect the L2 directly to T1 then connect T2 to the other heater thermostat feed then the heater unit will completely follow the direction of the thermostat. Or completely reverse with T1 to heater thermostat feed then T2 to L1 then L2 other heater thermostat feed. As for readings not accurate mine was within 1 degree. Calibration is east turn dial until heater comes on. Note the temperature at the thermostat location and pull dial off and replace with pointer at correct temperature.
